What's popular in consumer tech?
In the market for a digital camera or new cell phone? Might be interesting and/or informative to see what the most popular are:
Cell Phones
Digital Cameras - looks like everyone and their mother owns a Canon
He tipped how much?
Fans of "Friends" may remember the episode where Pete Becker (played by Jon Favreau of "Swingers" fame) gives Monica, who's working at a diner, a huge check for a $20,000 tip that turns out to be real. Well, it happened in real life (except with just $10k instead of $20k - what a cheapskate). I know I've raised the question about the custom of tipping in the past... if you're interested in the generally accepted customs, check out HowStuffWorks' explanation. Did you know that tip amounts can increase 3-5 percentage points if the server does things like touch the guest on the shoulder, leave candy with the bill, or squat next to the table when taking an order?

Original Star Wars DVDs available today (Best Buy, Walmart, Circuit City, Target); Some stores will have them in a special 'tin'; others will have special flyers / posters / comics inside.
New iPod! 30 Gb iPod down to $250. It's almost actually worth a purchse ... if I had any music to put on one.
After reading stories of people's experiences as waiters, I tend to tip a bit more now (still around 15% but on the higher side).
Here's an article saying that waiters are petitioning for an automatic 20% tip... if that happens, maybe we should all just stop eating out.
Forgot the link... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14801364/.
When did the expected / average tipping rate at restaurants jump to 20% from 15%?
